Ahoy!

You have reached Alexis Gervacio, and on paper I am a Computer Science student studying at the University of British Columbia. In real life, however, I have a much more difficult time labelling myself.

I'm alexis the artless, a musical artist who writes songs about everything from astrological signs to frosted flakes. I'm a theatre kid who will never get tired of the drama, and after a brief stint in the English Honours program, I have finally found my way over to the techy side, because I heard they have cookies (get it, like browser cookies).

Anyways, as a wise instagrammer (@bymariandrew) once said, "leading a passionate life doesn't mean finding ONE THING that is the center of your life", because WE are the centers of our lives, and "all our interests and curiosities can float around us like good company and consistent friends". For me, some of these passions can be seen in the opening animation.

I am also fascinated by the creative applications of technology: in particular, VR/AR/MR, game development, and mobile development. There are so many intersectional possibilites in these fields (i.e. immersive journalism, pioneered by Nonny de la Pena), and I can't wait to be part of the movement that stretches the limits of this tech even further.
